This is Winter, the dolphin fitted with a prosthetic tail (not worn in this photo). Winter lives at the Clearwater Aquarium where she has fascinated the world with a new lease on life, dolphin life. We may seriously learn a great deal from this experiment. It was difficult enough for her to survive without a tail. Now, our human innovation is proving quite successful for the injured dolphin.
