Inner Demon 8: A Closed Heart

Part 1: Night Terrors

Sunday, 11:46 PM

Chris awoke with a start. He gave out a muffled cry and struggled to free himself from his bed sheets as he falls out of bed. His breathing is difficult and hard, and beads of sweat glistened all over his body. His hands shot up, pressing against the bandages he had placed on his wounds that Kou- no, the monster had given him. The moment he had reached home, dressed in nothing but a towel, he had went straight into a bathroom and washed himself so hard, his entire body was red and sore from his excess scrubbing. He almost poured on the alcohol by the bottle, washing and disinfecting the wounds over and over again before covering them with bandages to heal.

Chris shuddered violently as images of the creature’s massive body and red eyes flashed through his mind. He remembered how it had battered him with it’s relentless thrusts and rubbing, how it had burned his skin when vast amounts of sexual juices flowed out of the massive mushroom head, and finally how aroused he had been to have been smothered by those vast inhuman muscles, devoid of any trace of fat, each fiber visible and rippling with-

“No!” Chris cried out, shutting his eyes and pounding his head. He tried desperately to shut out those images, but to no avail; the blood flowed into his 5 inch pride and swelled with excitement. However, he did not climax. He did not even touch his member. He just sat there, alone in his darkened room. He didn’t notice the tears flowing from his eyes, nor did he care. He just sat there, staring at his hands as if they were drenched in blood.

Monday, 6:55 AM

Chris felt drained and listless. Despite the fact that his body was so exhausted, Chris did not sleep at all the previous night. His nights were haunted by reoccurring nightmares of that monster, and each time he awoke screaming like a child. He had turned on all of the lights in the apartment, fearing everything that may lurk under the cover of the shadows. He spent the entire night in a corner, clutching a frying pan with an unrelenting grip, staring vacantly at the ground.

When the sun finally came up, it illuminated the room through the dingy windows, casting shadows everywhere. When Chris looked up, he saw moving shadows everywhere. Without even thinking, Chris leapt up and began attacking everything in sight with a blind panic. He pounded on the table and chair. He smashed the walls, revealing the insulation. He broke plates, cups, and knocked over the trash can and dented the refrigerator. It took him several minutes before he realized that the shadow he was busily pounding into the ground was in fact his own. Slowly, he fell to his knees, dropped the frying pan, then he broke down and cried like a baby.

Monday, 8:03 AM

Chris didn’t want to go to school. He had no intention of leaving his apartment so soon after what happened to him on Saturday. However, common sense overcame his fear. If he didn’t go to school, then it would raise suspicion. Also, there was no way that Ko…the demon would do anything at school around so many people. So, when first period came around, he was sitting in his desk in Mr. Benson’s English class, nervously awaiting Kou’s arrival. He sat there, half asleep and half widely alert for any indication that the monster was coming. The minutes dragged by and still he didn’t come. Before Chris knew it, first period had ended.

Monday, 12:15 PM

”YOU!”

Chris nearly had a heart attack from the sudden exclamation. As he watched, a girl with mousy brown hair stomped right past him and towards where Hunter and Lucas were standing somewhat nervously as she approached them with a fury. Something about the girl seemed vaguely familiar.

“Warrens, you- you- YOU!” She walked right up to Lucas and pressed up against him, causing Lucas to shrink back.

“Listen P- uh,” He stuttered, backing up into the wall. “I m-mean, Matthews, I-”

“Shut up!” She screeched. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done!? Do you know what happened to him!? [i]For Christ’s sake, do you know have the slightest bid of sense in you to think of what could have HAPPENED!? Answer me!” The more Chris listened, the more he felt like he should know the girl. Her features were hauntingly familiar and her attitude almost screamed in the back of his mind, yet he still couldn’t put his finger on it just yet.

“I-”

“SHUT UP!” She cut him off. “You stupid muscle head!” He punched one of Lucas’ beefy arms. “What the hell were you thinking when you decided to sleep on the job!?

“I’m sorry!” Lucas cowered, though he didn’t seem to have noticed the punch. “I had a very tough workout that day, and just watching was making me all sleepy, so I closed my eyes for one second and-”

“You closed your eyes for three hours you idiot!” She screamed. People were starting to give frequent stares as they passed by. Chris felt almost embarrassed just by standing there, watching. Suddenly, the image of a small girl with brown hair came to mind.

“Paige?” Chris said, finally remembering. “Paige Mathews?” Paige had been one of his few good friends from elementary school. He had lost track of her, however, along with all his other friends after he had lost his parents so he barely recognized her.

Mathews jumped up in surprise. She whirled around and faced Chris, her eyes wide. “C-Chris!” She said in a surprisingly small voice. “I-I-I di-didn’t s-see you.” Her looks were pretty much the same as Chris remembered her, only more mature and full. She even acted the same as before, sometimes being very timid and sometimes being extremely aggressive. In a way, she reminded him of Kou. At that thought, Chris felt a sharp pang in chest as his heart sank.

“I didn’t know we were in the same school.” Chris said, forgetting his nerves for a moment. “Why didn’t you let me know?”

“I-I-I…” She blinked several times fast. Chris could almost hear the wheels turning in her head. “I d-didn’t know either.” Chris saw Lucas and Hunter exchanged a glance but they all said nothing.

“Um…” Chris tried to think of something to say, but his mind was off elsewhere. “It…it was nice seeing you again Paige. Maybe we can hang out sometime.”

“Y-yeah, sure.” she agreed, her eyes cast shyly towards the ground and her cheeks slightly rosy.

“Well…bye.” Chris said, then headed off to PE class.

“I had almost forgotten about that.” Hunter remarked, rubbing his chin in amusement. Mathews blushed.

“You do remember that he’s gay, right Mathews?” Lucas reminded her. A split second later his left cheek came into contact with Mathew’s palm with a resounding smack.

Monday, 10:11 PM

Chris downed another cup of coffee, not bothering to sweeten it with cream or sugar. On his way home from school, he had stopped by the store and bought anything with high amounts of sugar and caffeine. When he reached his shabby apartment, he began to eat and drink non stop. He was afraid to sleep. Or, more specifically, he was afraid of his dreams. So he stuffed himself with so much caffeine and sugar that he would be able to stay up all night without any nightmare haunted sleep. A little discomfort was far better then reliving the horror he went through, so he gladly ate his twentieth chocolate bar.

Tuesday. 4:00 PM

Chris felt exhausted beyond belief the next day. Throughout the school hours, it took everything he had to keep himself from collapsing from exhaustion. Luckily, he didn’t have to do much that day, so he was able to sail on through without any complaints from the teachers and was able to drag himself back to his home.

Although he was more or less awake, the visions of massive muscled monsters with horns and fangs flashed through his mind often. He would cry out suddenly and cower back. He went to his computer and played music on full volume, much to the disproval of his neighbors. He would dunk himself in both cold and hot water with equal eagerness. None of them worked. The images still haunted his mind.

Wednesday, 11:24 AM

Chris didn’t know when he fell asleep. The last thing he remembered was sitting in the corner of his room, shutting his eyes to rest it a bit. The moment his eyes closed, three days without any form of rest caught up to him and pulled him into a deep sleep. At first, he didn’t have any dreams, just a calm, peaceful rest. Then, abruptly, the nightmares began again. He was once again on the bed, stripped naked. Standing before him was Kou, in all his muscular glory. Then, without any sign or warning, he began to change. He grew taller and taller, passing the ten foot mark and still growing. His muscles followed in the growth, bunching up and flexing until they surpassed the largest bodybuilder in the world, and then swelled some more, reaching inhuman proportions. Kou’s hair turned deadly white, breaking free of the tie that bound it together and growing down his ever expanding back. His erection, already at three feet hard, grew bigger and bigger until it was over 5 feet and impossibly thick, with his balls swelling just behind it to match. His forearms bulked up and his hands became huge, each finger ending in a long, wicked claw.

And finally, and most frightening of all, Kou’s face began to change. First, the skin color darkened into a deep bronze more perfect then anything tanning had ever achieved. His teeth grew pointed until they could only be called fangs. Two black horns sprouted from the top of his head, growing longer and longer until they were two feet long and curved back. And last, his eyes shifted from the deep innocent black to a wild crimson.

Chris tried screaming, but his voice was gone. Slowly the monster descended onto him. It’s claws slashed his chest, drawing blood. It bent down and began licking the blood from his wounds, slowly rubbing it’s giant cock head against Chris’ legs. It slowly pressed it’s chest into Chris, and it’s arms enveloped him with it’s great embrace. Fearfully, Chris looked up into the monster’s face, his eyes pleading for mercy. The monster returned the gaze, it’s red eyes staring at Chris with hunger and passion. Yet behind those red eyes, there was a darkness. The darkness did not cry of hunger or of lust. It cried in pain and for help.

Chris’s eyes shot open. He was no longer on the bed, but in his room. He blinked several times and sat there in his corner, taking in what he had just seen. Was it just a dream? Or was it a memory or a sign? Chris sat there, thinking long and hard. Finally, when he thought his head would explode, he jumped to his feet and headed out, hoping that Kou was still at home.

Part 2: Bound By Blood

Sunday, 8:00 AM

A blood curdling howl sounded from the inside of the house. Lou was not one bit regretful about paying extra to soundproof the house so that no noise would reach the outside. Otherwise, the neighbors would have probably called the police, and he doubted that they wouldn’t take a real live demon lightly. Hesitating for a split second, Lou opened the door and stepped out. He stood on the loft that loomed above Kou’s room. In front of him, the air seemed to shimmer like glass while pieces of paper floated in front of him. Suddenly, a massive fist appeared, aiming straight for Lou. The pieces of paper flashed, and the shimmering air turned solid just as the fist came into contact. The sound that the fist made when it hit the wall rivaled that of a thunderclap.

As Lou stepped closer, he was able to see the creature that the fist was attached to. It was large, humanoid and incredibly muscular. It stood almost twelve feet high with skin as golden brown as amber. It’s white hair flowed wildly down it’s back, almost reaching it’s waist. The creature’s pectorals were incredibly thick and pronounced, with a deep valley running between them and two large nipples pointing downwards from the bulging mass. Each abdominal muscle of the creature’s twelve pack were deep and cut, overshadowed only by the large chest above them. It’s arms were thicker then most men’s bodies, with perfect triceps and biceps that would put shame to any bodybuilder alive. It’s legs were thicker then redwoods (and not an exaggeration) and power calves to support the hulking beast. Two great black horns grew out of his heads, growing backwards but slightly curved back forward. The monster’s red eyes hungered, and it’s sharp teeth flashed in the limited light. Down below, it’s massive five foot erection stood hard and pumped up, almost ready to ram it into some poor person’s hole. The monster glared straight at the man standing before him, an immeasurable rage burning in it’s crimson eyes. With a roar, he began pounding the invisible wall again and again, but the wall would not give.

Lou watched the monster relentlessly attack the wall, then shifted his attention to the rest of the room. It was in complete shambles. The bed mattress was torn up into shreds, it’s remains scattered about the room and the bed frame was complete crushed and twisted into a compact shape. All the lamps and lights were smashed and broken, shards of glass littered the ground. What pained Lou the most, however, were the books. The bookshelves were thrown about, several dented deeply, others torn completely apart. The books were most strewn around, some with it’s cover ripped off, others with several hundred pages pulled out and there were even some that were ripped in half down the middle.

Finally, the monster stopped attacked at roared once more. “Let me out of here!” His voice was deep and cold, sending shivers down Lou’s spine. “Let me out of here, and I may spare your life, you insignificant human!”

“You know I can’t do that Kousuke.” Lou said, his voice kept calm and even.

“The hell you can’t!” The demon sneered. “Give me blood, and I shall give you pleasures you can only imagine!”

Lou gave the demon a steely gaze. “No.” He said coldly. “You‘ve gone drunk with the blood you‘ve eaten, and having more will only make things worse. The moment you calm down, we’re moving as far away as possible.” Lou turned around and left, leaving the monster howling with rage.

Monday, 4:55 PM

Lou walked into the loft, his forehead knotted in a frown. It had been awhile since Kou had roared out, and Lou’s curiosity finally compelled him to check in. As he entered, he saw with relief that the pieces of paper were still floating in the air where they were, and the translucent wall was still whole. He had worried that it may wear down if the monster kept on pounding it, but it was still going strong. The same went for all the other pieces of paper that was on the walls of the room. No doubt that the monster’s strength could have torn down the walls easily, but the tags made them invincible. Leaning against the far wall, the monster sat down with it’s legs spread out and it’s dick flopped on the ground.

“Dad!” The monster leapt to it’s feet, running towards Lou. It was still just as big and muscular as he had been the previous day and it’s cock was still huge and erect as before. The monster stopped just in front of the barrier, not bothering trying to break through it. “Dad, I’m okay now!”

“Really…” Lou said in a tone of fake amusement.

“Really, Dad, I’m okay.” It said, trying to sound genuine. “I’m sorry I yelled at you before, but now I’ve got my head under control.” It pressed one hand against the translucent wall. Lou noticed that the arm was a bit unsteady, which was peculiar with a creature of that size and strength.

“Really…” Lou repeated in the same fake tone.

“So,” The monster continued on, “Can you let me out? Please? I have to explain to Chris what happened before he tells everyone, Dad.” It voice was oddly strained and forced out in a way people try to act polite in front of people that angered them greatly.

“No son, you won’t.” Lou said sternly, looking deeply into the red eyes. “You may try to act like my son, but I see no kindness in your eyes. The moment you said his name, your eyes filled with lust and hunger, and that means you are far from being well. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to have dinner.”

The giant’s fist flew out, punching the invisible wall. “DAMMIT! LET ME OUT OF THIS PLACE NOW!”

Lou ignored it’s cry and walked out of the door, closing it behind him.

“You shall pay! The moment I get out of here, you shall pay with your blood!”

Tuesday, 7:06 PM

The house was silent. No sound echoed from Kou’s room, and the quiet atmosphere was eerie and foreboding. Lou tried to ignore it, but to no avail. Finally he couldn’t take it anymore and walked back into Kou’s room.

The monster was lying down on it’s side. It was shaking violently, and was clutching it’s stomach in a deep pain. It’s cock was now only half erect, with a pool of white underneath it’s head.

“F-father…” It said, shaking. “P-please…I’m dying…” it looked up, it’s eyes pleading. “Please…I need to…eat…Please, just give me a little…I need it…it tastes so good…I must have m-more.” It reached up weakly, it’s arm shivering.

Lou looked in shock at the figure below. Although the creature was so large and powerful, it was acting like someone under the influence of drugs and uncontrollably addicted. Drugs alone were bad, but this being’s addiction was to blood. Not only would it harm itself, but it would endanger the lives of others as well. It had been lees then two days and yet the effects were this dramatic.

“No Kou.” Lou said. He took a deep breath. “You don’t need to eat. You’ve never grown hungry before, and you can still live without eating or drinking anything. I know this may be hard for you, but you have to break your cravings now, before they take over your life.”

“You don’t know what it’s like!” The monster cried out. “It hurts, Dad! It hurts like nothing I’ve ever felt before! Please, give me some blood! I don’t care whose, but I need to feed!” Slowly, it had pulled and crawled at a snails pace towards Lou. When it reached the wall and held it’s hand up high, unable to control it’s erratic movements. “Please…help me Dad….help me…”

The cry for help was like a knife in Lou’s heart. For a split second, his heart was full of pain and compassion. His right foot began to move to take a step forward towards his son. The voice in his mind screamed warnings and of danger, snapping Lou back to his senses. Slowly, his foot moved back to the way it was. If he had taken just that one step, the demon would have had him, and he would have gladly fed the monster it’s vile choice of food. Lou clenched his fist and his jaw, steeling himself. Without saying goodbye, he headed out, his son still pleading and crying for blood.

“Please, Dad!” The demon continued to scream. “Help me! I’m dying, Father! Save me, please!” Each cry struck into Lou’s heart, but still he walked away from those callings. Lou closed the door, the cries becoming muffled. Slowly, he walked down the hall, down the stairs, into the living room and into the kitchen. There, he fell to his hands and knees and wept.

Wednesday, 12:05 PM

Lou checked in on Kou from time to time during the night. Kousuke was still having fits and convulsions, but he seemed to have quieted down a lot since the first night. He was still pleading weakly for blood, but they were getting weaker and weaker each time. When it was noon, he finally walked into Kou’s room through the ground entrance. All at once, the papers floating and hanging on the walls fell down, and the shimmering in the air vanished.

The demon sat in a corner of the room, taking a large amount of space. He no longer shook or shivered, but sat silently facing the wall, with his massive back towards Lou. Lou was pleased to see a pair of tattoo designs on the back, though the current situation dampened the mood. Another good sign was the fact that Kou had taken the bed sheet and wrapped into around his waist into a makeshift loincloth. Since the monster hadn’t bothered with clothing, this was almost a sure sign that Kou was himself again. Slowly, Lou approached the giant until he was right behind him.

“Kou?” Lou said cautiously. The demon flinched from Lou’s voice and pulled itself in.

“Kou, are you alright now?” Lou said a bit more certainly.

“No Dad, I’m not.” The monster sobbed. “I hurt him Dad…I hurt him…”

“He’s probably just fine, Kou.” Lou reassured him, placing a hand on the creature’s shoulder.

“I’m a monster Dad, a monster!” Kou cried out loudly. “Just look at me! I’m a freak!”

“Shh,” Lou said softly, wrapping his arms around his son’s neck, careful to avoid the horns. “Don’t say that.”

“But I am!” Kou yelled, shaking off his father. Lou was thrown back a bit, landing square on his rear three feet away. Kou didn’t look back. “Dad…Why didn’t you kill me? You said that if I ever turned into a monster, you‘d kill me.”

Lou stood up, rubbing his sore rear. “Because like it or not, you’re my son, and family sticks together.”

“I am not your son and you know it!” Kou pounded on fist against the wall, leaving a large hole in it. Lou instantly regretted taking down the barrier so soon at that point.

“No, you are my son.” Lou said, his voice strong. “We may not be related by blood, but we’ve got a bond stronger then that, Kou. No matter what you think you are, you’re still my son.”

Kou began crying again, his sobbing audible to Lou. Lou was about to do something when he heard the doorbell ring. Frowning, he headed out. “Who in the world could that be?”

Part 3: Open Up

Lou opened the front door and was shocked to see Chris standing outside. “Chris!” He exclaimed. “What…why are you-”

“I want to see Kou.” Chris said in a solid tone.

Lou’s eyes hardened. “Chris, why do you-”

“I want to see Kou.” Chris repeated a bit stronger.

Lou’s eyes searched Chris’ face for clues. What he saw was a boy determined to do whatever it took to get what he wanted, no matter what the cost. Seeing that there was nothing that could dissuade him, Lou stepped aside and allowed Chris to enter the house. “Are you okay?” Lou asked, concern for Chris’ welfare.

“I..I think so.” Chris pressed a hand over his chest where the bandages laid underneath his shirt. “He didn’t cut me too deep, so it wasn’t anything serious.”

“Have you told anyone?” Lou blurted out, anxious to know the answer. To his relief, Chris shook his head. “Thank God.” He breathed out. “I was half afraid an army would storm the house to arrest a demon.”

“Is..is that what Kou is?” Chris asked.

Lou looked at Chris. Chris saw immediately that the humorous glint in those eyes were gone, replaced by a mournful tired expression. “Yes.” He said finally. “Kou is a demon.”

Chris had expected that response, but still the words hit him hard. “Then, are you…?”

Lou shook his head. “No, I’m not a demon. I adopted Kou when he was a young child, but I am as human as you are.”

“I see.” Chris took his eyes off of Lou, unable to bear looking into those eyes any longer. “Can I see Kou?”

Lou gave a deep sigh. “I guess you could. I’m not entirely sure what will happen if you’d step in there right now, but I think he’s himself for now.”

“I understand.” Chris nods, then headed towards Kou’s room. When he entered it, he was shocked to see the mess the room was in. The books Kou had loved dearly were ruined, most beyond repair. In one corner the monster sat with his back towards him, sobbing. It’s white hair cascaded down it’s broad back, reaching the center. From underneath the hair, Chris could make out two black markings, similar to tattoos, but somewhat faded. Maybe that’s the reason Kou never takes off his shirt. Chris thought to himself as he approached the creature. When he got close, the creature’s head shot up, it’s gasp of surprise clearly audible.

“Chris?” It’s powerful voice rumbled. Chris was in awe of how deep and powerful that voice was. Before, Kou’s voice was powerful enough as it is, but now it was at least three times stronger.

“How did you know it was me?” Chris asked, standing several feet away from the demon.

“I…I could smell you.” The monster said in a horrified voice. “I could smell your blood approaching, coming closer to me.” The monster began shaking more, as if fighting some sort of internal struggle. Still, it refused to turn around and look at Chris, as if it was terrified of facing him. “Please…go away from me. I don’t want to hurt you again.”

“Kou, it’s okay.” Chris said, stepping forward. “I’m okay, really. I don’t know how this happened, or why, but everything’s going to be alright.”

“No, it won’t!” The monster tried to move farther into the corner, but there was no room. “I’ve tasted blood, Chris! Your blood! Now I want to…to…oh God, I’m a monster!”

“Kou, shut up!” Chris snapped. He was now a foot and a half away from the demon’s back. “I don’t care what you are, but to me you’re just as much a human being as I am! So what if you got muscles? Big deal, the world is full of people who spend their lives building it up. So what if you’re tall? People grow short or tall, and that’s it! So what if your hair is white? Everyone grows white hair eventually anyways. And to be honest, I think those horns look kinda cool on you.”

The demon’s shaking had lessened, and it’s sobs grew quieter.

“You say you want my blood, right?” Chris said, slowly approaching the monster. He only had a foot left to go. “Well, I’m here right now, standing right behind you, yet you’ve haven’t gone and attacked me yet. Do you know what that tells me?” 10 inches left. “It tells me that you’re stronger then your urges, that you can fight your cravings.” 8 inches. “To be honest, we’re a lot alike. We try to pull ourselves from other people, but in truth we don’t want to be alone.” 5 inches. “You’re not alone, Kou. You never were. You have your Dad and me here to help you.” 3 inches. “I don’t care if you’re a demon. I don’t even care if you happen to be part fairy or something. All I care about is the oversized fifteen year old who opened up to me.” One inch. “So please, don’t shut me out Kou. I’m your friend, and friends stick together.”

The monster turned it’s head around. Gone were the red eyes that had struck fear into Chris. Instead, the familiar dark eyes shone with tears of both grief and happiness looked back into him. “Chris…” Kou said, his voice cracking.

Lou sighed from the doorway. “I guess I better unpack.”

Chris looked back, confused. “Unpack?”

Lou smiled. “It looks like we won’t have to move away after all. In fact, I doubt I could budge either one of you from each other, and even if I did, you’d probably run off and find each other the next day.”
