“No…” Simon cried as he held onto the lifeless hand. “No, no, no, no!”

Gloomily, Mr. Warden held his hand up and looked at his watch. “Time of death…11:32 PM.” Mrs. Warden broke into tears. Riley turned away to hide his face. Sophie buried her face into Howard’s shirt as he did his best to comfort her. Eve, sobbing the loudest, turned around and ran out of the hospital room with Boomer following. Simon…

Jamal slowing walked up to his friend. “Simon…I’m sorry, but he’s gone.” Jamal reached out to comfort him.

“No, he’s not gone!” Simon pulled away from Jamal’s outreached hand. “He’s right here, in front of us. He’s still here. He’s just…just sleeping. Yea, any moment he’s going to open his eyes and give us that silly smile of his!”

The eyes that Jamal gave Simon were those of pity. It was just so sad that he was unable to take anymore. He turned towards the Wardens, offered his condolences, and then left to go find Eve to keep her company.

Simon gazed on Logan’s peaceful face. Though he was so frail and pale skinned, he looked just so magnificently beautiful in this moment. The way his brilliant red hair outlined his thin face, how his lips had a ghost of a smile left on it. He just couldn’t believe it.

“Logan?” Simon gently placed his hand on his love’s frail shoulder and gave it a careful shake. “Logan? Logan, it’s me, Simon. Come on little guy, wake up. Open your eyes, please? Logan? Come on, you can’t be…be dead. You just can’t! Please, wake up!”

“Simon…” Howard started sympathetically.

“No!” Simon’s big body trembled, tears streaming down his face. “He’s not dead! He can’t be dead! I…I still need him! Come on Logan, please, wake up! Please! I can’t live without you Logan! Open your eyes, Logan! Wake up! Two months is too short! There’s too many things we haven’t done, too many things we haven’t talked about! I love you, so please, so don’t leave me alone!”

And with that Simon leapt forward and pressed his lips against Logan’s.

Logan lifted his head up. Quietly he stood, listening intently. He thought he had heard Simon’s voice, but that was impossible.

Simon was alive, while he had just died.

Shaking his head, Logan continued to walk forward, heading down the path. The path was made of a sort of smooth glass that held his weight. Around him along the path were the infinite numbers of the stars, lighting his way. Comets dances through the sea of space, planets were born and died and reformed again in moments. As he watched, he saw a nearby star, as yellow as the Earth’s sun, grew bigger into a red giant before it suddenly went into a supernova, exploding in a brilliant, beautiful flash of light.

Logan continued on towards the brilliant light waiting for him at the end. The light was warm, and comforting. There, he wouldn’t feel any more sorrows or sadness. There, he would have eternal peace.

Please, wake up!

There it was again. Logan stopped and listened intently. He was positive he had heard Simon that time. It seems like Simon was having trouble letting go of him after all.

“Oh Simon…” Logan sighed deeply.

I can’t live without you Logan!

“Please, don’t make it any harder then it already is…” Logan closed his eyes. It was too late now. He had already died, and was moving on. There was no way he could go back, and even if he somehow lived again, the incomplete Fel Neros would just pull him back right away.

There’s too many things we haven’t done, too many things we haven’t talked about! I love you, so please, so don’t leave me alone!

Don’t leave me alone…Logan took those words to heart. He knew from experience how lonely being separated from your love was. Looking towards the light at the end of the path, Logan wondered if it could replace the feeling he had whenever he held Simon’s strong hand.

Quickly he shook his head. He had been content. Logan had felt that his life had been completed, and that he had lived it to the fullest. He didn’t have any personal regrets, any lingering emotions. He had his share of happiness.

But, did Simon get his?

Biting his lip, Logan closed his eyes and searched his soul. Ahead was death, and eternal peace, with no trouble or worries. Behind him was life, filled with pain and cruelty, but also of love and great happiness.

And Simon was there waiting, calling for him to come back.

Even if it was impossible, he just had to try. Turning around, Logan sprinted back down the path towards life. The stars flashed brightly and lights dances everywhere. A nebula, the remains of the sun that had gone nova, swirled and condensed until it was reborn into a new, baby star. As he neared the beginning of the path once again, Logan could feel the joys of new life and birth flow through him right before he plunged headfirst back into the world of the living.

It was a sad sight, to watch as Simon tried to deny Logan’s death and try to wake him up. As Riley watched, Simon kissed Logan’s dead lips, trying to breathe some life back into his brother’s corpse. It was just too much to take. He began to leave the room to mourn somewhere in private, away from this sad scene.

A beep from the heart monitor made him stop. Snapping his head, he stared at the monitor, but it had once again returned to being a flatline. Stupid machine glitch he thought, cursing it for getting his hopes up so fast so suddenly. No one could come back from the dead. No one.

Riley began to leave again when the monitor beeped again. Riley stopped. It beeped. It beeped again. He looked at his parents, Howard and Sophie, who looked just as bewildered as he was.

And then, time stopped.

Simon kept his lips against Logan’s waiting, hoping for a response. Even though Logan had just passed on, those lips were already cold and lifeless. Desperate, he tried harder to wake his true love up. He reached out with all of his mind, heart and being towards the little body of his soul mate, trying to ignite Logan’s flame of life once more.

And then it happened. Simon felt something going on around him, as if every particle of the universe were revolving around him. Time seemed to become non existent as a single moment was frozen for five beats of the heart, and the earth underneath his feet moved just a fraction of an inch off its axis.

Logan’s hand twitched.

Time resumed its course, but Simon didn’t stop. He poured more of himself into Logan, feeding the undernourished body with his own pure energy. He focused his entire existence into Logan; calling, crying, begging him to return.

And then, Logan kissed back.

The world around them seemed nonexistent as Simon thought nothing more than his lover’s kiss. At first it was so weak and confused, but as the seconds ticked by it became stronger, more sure of it self, more alive. Warmth returned to Logan’s body as the soul came back to its proper vessel. Simon could feel Logan reach up and wrapped around Simon’s neck, pulling the big stud closer for a deeper kiss. They reveled in it, making it last as long as it could, neither willing to break it.

Finally, Simon had to end it first. He had to see. Slowly, he pulled back and looked down. “Logan?”

The eyelids fluttered open, and green eyes gazed lovingly into his. “Hey.” His voice creaked as if he hadn’t used it in a long time. “Did you miss me?”

“Logan!” Simon threw himself onto the little guy and hugged him tightly. “Logan! Logan! Logan!”

“Wha…what just happened?” Riley looked at them, his eyes as round as silver dollars.

“I think we just witnessed a miracle.” Sophie said softly as she watched Simon cry with joy all over Logan.

Simon walked briskly down the hospital hallways, carrying balloons and a big gigantic teddy bear the same size as Eve in his arms. For the past twelve days he had been showering Logan with gifts and non stop pampering.

“Honey, I’m here!” Simon announced as he opened the door and entered.

Logan was sitting on the edge of the bed shirtless as his dad pressed the stethoscope against his chest.

“You’re right on time.” Logan grinned up at him. “Dad was just giving me a last minute check-up before we leave. ”

Simon smiled back as he set the big teddy bear and the balloons aside and watched patiently. Logan was now looking more like a healthy normal person. His skin had gained some color and he had filled out with rather nicely. The dreadful scars that had previously dominated his arms had completely vanished, leaving behind nothing but smooth soft skin. Even the acne had cleared up, revealing Logan’s full beautiful face for the first time in years.

And he was so damn sexy.

After Mr. Warden finished, he nodded in approval as he wrote in his folder. “You’ve gained 4 pounds of lean muscle mass since yesterday.” He announced. “You’ve also gained an inch compared to last week’s measurements. If I wasn’t seeing it with my own eyes, I would have said it was medical miracle.”

“For a Kyn Lor’de, miracles are nothing.” Logan beamed up at Simon. Simon felt his pride swell up.

Indeed, as if to make up for lost time Logan had been undergoing a sped up growth. Not only did Logan become stronger, but his muscles were growing and his height was steadily climbing. In just a few days, Logan had reached his old size. Better even, because now he was stronger, healthier and fit. And none of them knew when it was going to stop. Either way, Simon became hard whenever he lay down to sleep every night, knowing his lover will only be even sexier then the day before.

Harold chuckled as he shook his head. “Still, it was quite something you two pulled off. Your Kin-Lam’s ability to connect with others was transferred over to Simon, something that was supposed to be impossible. Then, Simon breathed life back into your body. After being reborn, you were given a fresh start once again, regaining your Kin-Lam powers and abilities. As luck would have it, the first person either of you touched when you regained your powers was each other, making each other true Auror Dians. As if that wasn’t enough, the effect of Logan’s rebirth caused a world wide effect, changing every person on the planet, both human and Kin-Lam to allow a Kin-Lam to disengage and redo their Fel Neros at will and allow interracial pairings to exist without the negative side effects. Nothing like this has ever happened in our history, not even with previous Kyn Lor’de. Truly, Simon is one special individual.”

“You’re forgetting that I’m not the only Kyn Lor’de.” Simon corrected him as he reached out and held Logan’s hand. “Your son is also a very special person.”

“That he is.” Mr. Warden chuckled. “Now, I’m going to go finish the release papers and then I’ll take us all home. Everyone’s waiting for us, and your mother has been up since morning cooking all of your favorites.”

“Thanks Dad.” Logan said as he watched his father leave. “Hey Simon, can you hand me my shirt over there?” He pointed towards where his shirt was draped over a chair.

Instead of doing as he was told, Simon reached out and caressed Logan’s naked torso, feeling the small, hard muscles lying underneath the delicate skin. “I think you look hotter without the shirt.” He growled seductively, tracing his finger down the developing pectorals and ripped abs.

A soft blush crept onto Logan’s face. “Please, my Dad could be back any minute. As okay as he is with all of this, no parent can be completely comfortable seeing their kid making out with someone in front of them. We have all the time in the world to play.”

Simon laughed. “Alright, but later tonight, I am going to see you without a shirt or pants on.”

“I can hardly wait.” Logan grinned broadly.

* * *

That night, after hours of hot sweat filled sex, Logan finally gave into exhaustion and laid back onto his new king sized bed, completely wiped out.

“Man…I never knew sex could be so intense.” He said as he breathed heavily; sweat glistening off his tight body, making him radiant. “I don’t know if I’ll ever catch up to your stamina.”

“Don’t worry; I know you will grow into it eventually.” Simon said as he settled down next to him, his glorious naked body shining in the pale moonlight. “But until then, I’m okay with slowing down just a bit for you. It’ll give me more time to admire your cute face.”

Logan gave a soft tired laugh as he reached up and pressed his hand against Simon’s smooth cheek. “I love you Simon.”

“I love you too, Logan.” Simon replied.

They kissed each other until they both fell asleep in each other's arms, holding them close together. Even after they woke up in the next morning, they never really let go, nor will they ever let each other go ever again.

Epilogue

2 years later...

Simon tugged at his collar. He never had really gotten used to formal wear. Even though his suit had been tailored to fit his unique measurements, it still felt weird. True, he loved to wear tight clothing to show off his body, but this was downright uncomfortable.

He looked around at the other guests in the Warden’s backyard as they arrived. Most of them Simon had never met before, or had seen but never really talked to. However, there were several that he could recognize. He spotted Riley with his boyfriend/partner Troy chatting with each other near the buffet line. Both of them attended the same college and played on the same team, protecting the other both on the field and off.

Sitting over in a few chairs over were Sophie and Howard, holding each other’s hands while they wait. Sophie was wearing a splendid lavender gown, while Howard looked dashing in his crisp blue dress shirt and gold tie. The two of them made such a cute couple. They were both planning to get a degree in psychology and become counselors in order to help troubled teenagers. With their powers, they could probably accomplish a lot.

He spotted Jamal come and take his seat by himself. He and his partner had decided to see other people to find out if there was someone else for them. Jamal tried both Kin-Lam and normal humans, searching for his soul mate. Currently, he was dating a cute normal girl from school, which explains why he came without a date.

“Hey sweetie.” A deep voice rumbled behind him. “I got you your drink.”

Simon turned around and smiled. Standing behind him was a tall, handsome hulk of a man. He stood just a few hairs under Simon’s own 7’6” height, but looked to have over 20 to 30 pounds of muscle over him (though in truth, he weighed 150 more pounds heavier.) His suit, which was obviously custom made, hugged his body and looked incredible on him, making him look suave, dignified and very handsome. Even through the dark material, Simon could see the sheer size of the guy’s muscles.

Not only was this man huge, he was drop dead gorgeous as well. Smooth red hair flowed like silk around his masculine face. His skin was perfectly flawless, with no signs of scarring or blemish. Each of his teeth was perfectly white and straight, making his smile capable of lighting even the dimmest room. And, most importantly, his eyes gleamed like two emeralds, laced with a gentle kindness and love.

“Thanks Logan.” Simon said as he accepted the paper cup that the big guy was offering.

Logan smiled as he nimbly jumped over the row of chairs and seated himself next to Simon. Not even a strand of hair had been disheveled or jarred out of place. He was so perfect. He had been valedictorian of their class, star player of the varsity football team and president of the student council. The two of them both got football scholarships and were going to the same college next fall. Today, they were here to celebrate a very special event.

“Nervous?” Simon asked him.

“A little.” Logan admitted.

“Hey, it’s not your Tyr ‘d lei this time.” Simon placed his arm around Logan and grinned. “So just relax.”

Logan smiled his thanks. The two of them watched as everyone took their seats and the ceremony began.

First, soft music played. Then, the two young children appeared and began to walk down the aisle.

Eve, dressed in a beautiful little white gown, walked with grace and a smile. The boy who walked next to her was wearing his ceremonial outfit, but looked like he would rather be somewhere else right then. The two of them reached the flower archway, where the Kin-Lam Vuran Elder awaited to give the sermon.

All of a sudden there was the sound of barking. Everyone turned around as they saw a gold streak of fur appear, racing towards the young pair.

“Boomer!” Eve cried out happily.

The dog gave one big leap and jumped right into Eve, knocking her down and licking her face. A murmur swept the audience as Eve giggled and laughed as Boomer continued to give her wet doggie kisses.

Simon laughed. “Somehow, I knew this was going to happen.”

Logan looked over at Simon. “Well, I don’t know what to say except that those two will make a very unique couple.”

“Well, the both of us were also unique, and we came out alright.” Simon pointed out.

“That we did.” Logan winked.
