For those seeking peace, tranquility and undisturbed
nude sunbathing, Elaphite (Elafiti) islands are the
right place to go. There are numerous lonely beaches
and coves perfect for spending a day under the sun in
a natural way.

The Elaphite or as their name suggests
Deer Islands consist of large number of reefs and rocks
and eight islands and five islets, namely: Daksa, Koločep
(Kalamota), St. Andrija, Lopud, Ruda, Šipan, Mišnjak,
Jakljan, Kosmeč, Goleč, Crkvine, Tajan and Olipa. They
are located just west of Dubrovnik. Only three islands
in the whole Elphite archipelago are inhabited; Kolocep
(Kalamota), Lopud and Šipan. The others are just a playplace
oasis for the gull rarely disturbed by the lonesome
visitor in search of tranquil isolation.
To get to any of the inhabited Elaphite
islands is fairly easy as ferry boats go on a regular
basis leaving out of Dubrovnik's port, the Port of Gruz.

Kolocep (Kalamota) - is the smallest
of the three settled Elaphite islands, closest to Dubrovnik,
this island is like a small park from dreams. The island
is full of pine and carob trees entangled with citrus
gardens and small olive groves. The island is made up
of limestone and dolomite rock but at each end every
settlement has its own, natural, miraculous sandy beach.
Lopud - The island in the middle as it has been
called, is located between Kolocep and Šipan. It is
full of Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation, amazing
cypress and pine parks and citrus gardens. This is the
most visited island in the Elaphite archipelago, mainly
for its amazing Šunj sandy beach which is partly naturist.
Šipan - The Golden Island is the largest of the
settled Elaphite islands, the sight of many Dubrovnik
Republic aristocratic manors.
